About B&B Molendijk

We named our Bed & Breakfast “Molendijk” because there used to be a post mill on the “Hasselderheide”, owned by our family.

This post mill was demolished 1930 and replaced by an electric mill. The latter was in use until 1965. The mill stones are still in use in the watermill of grain distillery “de IJsvogel” in Arcen.

On the right there’s a photo of bar “de Molen” (The Mill). This was a former tram stop that was renovated into a bar by our family. Unfortunately this beautiful historic building burnt down to the ground in the 1980s, never to be rebuilt again.

Our residence was built in 1953, and already in those first years it was used to accommodate guests. North Limburg was already popular in those days, because a lot of families in the big cities went on a holiday to the rural areas.

Since then holidays in North Limburg  have become even more popular. We decided to employ an apartment alongside our house as Bed & Breakfast ”Molendijk”, especially for you, our guest.

We hope to see you soon!
